Methods for animal production

Two tools associated with MCDA in animal production are currently available on the MEANS platform. They can be used at different levels.

  • The Diamond method is a multi-attribute assessment method with complete aggregation of indicators, built with the actors of the poultry sector, in partnership with ITAVI. It is a good example of a sector's approach to questioning the sustainability of its activity
  • MeatPartTool, is a tool and databases dedicated to the allocation of environmental impacts between the different parts of an animal dedicated to human consumption. It allows comparisons between different allocation methods for meat products, applicable in Life Cycle Assessment. Cattle and sheep carcass composition databases have also been updated.
